The Kalevala’s Call singing workshops are coordinated by the Kalevala Women’s Association and supported by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation. The Kalevala Women’s Association (Kalevalaisten Naisten Liitto) is a women’s cultural and traditional organisation that has been promoting the status of women and the Finnish cultural heritage since the 1930s.
This event is part of activities related to the European Heritage Label awarded to the Kalevala as an epic living heritage. The Gallen-Kallela Museum is one of the subsites for the label, and the Kalevala Women’s Association is part of the wider collaboration network.
