OUR VALUES
Eco-friendliness, transparency, reliability, putting people first
Our values form the strategic foundations for the museum. These values are based on Akseli Gallen-Kallela’s life work and the artist’s relationship with nature. Gallen-Kallela valued and cherished Finnish cultural heritage and wanted to protect nature.
Environmental promises steering our operations:
- Gallen-Kallela Museum is a centre for information and experiences surrounding artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela. The museum cherishes cultural heritage and improves well-being in the spirit of Gallen-Kallela.
- The museum will move to eco-friendly forms of energy between 2022 and 2025.
- The museum cultivates the diversity of its grounds and manages and develops the cultural environment of Tarvaspää.
- The museum follows the principles of sustainable development.
The Gallen-Kallela Museum creates memorable experiences among the art and architecture of Gallen-Kallela in the beautiful landscape of Tarvaspää. Protecting local biodiversity as part of the Laajalahti Natural Reserve is important to us. We protect local nature and provide people with opportunities to enjoy themselves and relax.
The museum highlights environmental awareness in its communication and shares information about environment-friendly practices through its exhibitions and audience development. Tarvaspää is welcoming and safe to all. Here our guests can be active, explore and enjoy themselves.
OUR GOALS
- Make Akseli Gallen-Kallela’s and the museum’s values reality
- Maintain the local biodiversity of Tarvaspää
