A visit to the museum

The Gallen-Kallela Museum is a great place for early education and school groups to visit. There is both exhibition-specific and more general content on Akseli Gallen-Kallela and Tarvaspää atelier building. The museum tours are tailored to the age groups and their needs.

Duration: the visit lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. Please allow time for transfers, dropping off and picking up coats and rucksacks.

Price of the visit: 40 € + tickets, free entrance to the museum for children under 18. The visit is free of charge for the City of Espoo KULPS / Culture Path groups.

Group size: the recommended group size varies depending on the tour. 15-25 pupils are generally recommended. Maximum size of the group is 25.

Time: visits can be arranged from Tuesday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.

Snacks and meals: snacks can be eaten outdoors or indoors if necessary. It is kindly requested that you mention about your plans at the time of booking.

Tarvaspää museum tour

For all ages

The tour takes you through the history and the secrets of the studio castle and provides basic information about the artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela and about his life. The most interesting works and details are selected from the current exhibition.

Gallen-Kallela Museum

Designed and built by artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865-1931), the Tarvaspää Studio Castle presents temporary exhibitions of the art and life of Gallen-Kallela and his contemporaries, as well as contemporary art. The museum offers a wide range of activities and events and serves as a centre of information on Akseli Gallen-Kallela.
