Celebration Seminar 23.4.2025 at Sello Library, from 16:30

Welcome to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the birth of our national artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela, when the Gallen-Kallela Museum will host a seminar on Wednesday evening, 23 April, on the stage of Sello library in Espoo. During the evening, we will celebrate the art, life and legacy of Akseli Gallen-Kallela through presentations on different themes.

At the event, we will learn about the museum’s present, its recent history and cooperation projects, and look to the future of the museum and the surrounding cultural environment of Tarvaspää. During the evening, we will hear from museum and museum foundation staff, as well as speakers associated in the museum’s collaborative activities. There will also be time for open discussion and questions. Estimated duration of the event is 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The event is free of charge and open to the public on the 1st floor of Sello library. For more information on accessibility of the space, please visit the Sello library website from this link.

The main language of the event will be Finnish, but David Okelo, Community Coordinator of the Kenya Revisited -project, will speak in English.
